New Big Hospital Art Competition!
In cooperation with Aalborg Hospital, we're now ready to announce the next big art competition: "Art for a better Health!".
It is scientifically proven that art can have a therapeutic effect on sick people. Here's the chance to make art that helps emotional vulnerable people.
Aalborg hospital, the public hospital for over 600.000 people in Denmark, has regone a larger renovation and have asked for YayArt for their walls.
Here's your chance to make a difference. Compete against the best to make therapeutic art that helps the patients at Aalborg Hospital. The winners will be exhibited at the departments of Aalborg Hospital. Go submit here.
Insider info:
The patients on these departments are both in for daily treatment as well as longer stays.
The daily treatments are for children and adults with epilepsy. In many of the treatments in these departments, the patients get small electrode shocks. This means the patients often come with a certain fear of what will happen. The staff experience that in the few areas where there currently are art on the walls, it helps patients to abstract away from the situation and be more calm.
The departments with longer stays are mostly patients with scleroses or strokes. They are lying there for a long time to recover and regain strength.
The art for the departments will be judged upon it's ability to humanise the hospital and bring out a positive energy. Too depressing, negative or surreal art can overwhelm a vulnerable person. The artwork should help to improve the patients' stay at the hospital, the effect could be energetic, meditative, calming and de-stressing.
As winner of "Art for a better Health!", your work will be exhibited at Aalborg Hospital and you'll get the opportunity to be part of the YayArt shop, with royalties from the sales.
We all know art can move and touch people, let us make "Art for a better Health". Bring on your best art and hurry up - only running till the beginning of March at www.yayart.com/submit/
Thanks to Anne Hedegaard and Aalborg Hospital.
