YayArt is a tough crowd!

I’ve looked through the scores of the wonderful art pieces of this site, and I can tell you - if you feel like you got a tough rub, you’re not the only one!

It’s a picky crew, this one. If you want to dazzle it, you’ve got to come up with something truly amazing. Scores above 40% are quite rare here!

But from the trends I’ve seen, effort is rewarded. Pieces with an idea, a purpose, and a high artistic level, is rewarded. But maybe we haven’t seen the best of what people can do yet? Maybe down the road we will see percentages around 90, once we all get our pencils, wacoms and what-have-we, tuned in?

But we are talking art, and for the majority right now, with other artists, so people have opinions. Also, I’ve seen a slight move towards voting others down, however, I’m confident that kind of behavior will stop, as we’re all interested in a fair result. Everyone should be interested in putting on the wildest exhibition known to man here the 22nd of may! We all need to convince the “common man” of the superiorness of 21st century art ;)

So dare your family, your friends, your ex-girlfriends and people you’ve never liked, to go voting, and we’ll all be a little wiser on what everyone around us like about our work. Should be fun :)

Cheers!

Thanks Neil Alejandro for use of the cool photo

You talk about scores but we see "votes" for every image. How can we know how many are yays and how many are nays ?

Hey Abhaysalve,
Thanks, I thought it was some pretty interesting information, that would be nice to share.
We're working on different ways of making it more transparrent if people vote fair or not - hopefully this will help. But the final 24 will be the result of quite a few factors, so we should get the best art pieces in the final!

I agree, I really enjoy works with a strong concept/idea - it makes pieces interesting for longer, I think.

Hey pixelado - the score I'm referring to is the one you can see under 'profile' at ‘News about my submissions’. After the number of votes, you can see the percentage of positive votes

It will be very interesting to see what direction 21st centuries art will go! I hope a new unique style will slowly evolve, where all the great digital techniques are used to make interesting and relevant art. Where artistsn use their art to make statements.
I'm quite excited, I think there are already some tendencies emerging :)
